We have compiled a list of law-related websites which you may find useful:
Manitoba Government Court Registry - The Court Registry System contains records of documents filed and hearings scheduled in the Court of Queen's Bench and the Manitoba Court of Appeal. The court records are slowly being computerized so some matters may not yet show up.
Manitoba Court's Website - The goal of this web site is to provide you with information about Manitoba's court system. It is also designed to assist members of the community, legal professionals, self-represented persons, and the media in accessing particular court information.
Manitoba Laws Online - This free online service makes the laws and regulations of Manitoba accessible for reference, research and private use. Please note that the online versions are not official and may have changed since the website was last updated. Official versions in print form are available for purchase from the Office of the Queen's Printer. They can also be viewed in The Continuing Consolidation of the Statutes of Manitoba in the Legislative Library or any public library.
Community Legal Education Association - CLEA is a not-for-profit organization that provides public legal education and information programs to Manitobans. We believe that legal knowledge is a prerequisite to full and equal participation in our society.
Legal Aid Manitoba - Legal Aid Manitoba exists to help people - individuals and groups - who need a lawyer but who cannot afford to pay for one. Legal Aid does not cover every kind of case, but depending on your income and the legal issues involved you may qualify for full or partial coverage of your legal fees. If you are employed, there is a $25.00 non-refundable fee if you decide to apply for legal aid. If you have no income then Legal Aid will waive this fee. Our firm does not accept family law cases on legal aid but will sometimes accept criminal cases on a legal aid certificate depending on the nature of the charge.
